Who VetVantage Is For (and Who It Isn’t)

Choosing the right support when navigating VA disability benefits matters. VetVantage was created for a specific group of Veterans, and being clear about that helps ensure Veterans pursue the right resources for their situation.

Who VetVantage Is For

VetVantage is built for Veterans who already have VA-rated, service-connected conditions and need updated, VA-style medical documentation that reflects how those conditions affect them today.

Our services focus exclusively on medical evaluations and clinical documentation, not VA claims strategy or outcomes.

VetVantage Is a Good Fit for Veterans Who:

  • Have existing VA disability ratings and believe their symptoms have worsened over time

  • Need a private, independent medical examination to document current severity

  • Understand the importance of clear, consistent, and thorough medical evidence

  • Want accurate medical records that reflect functional limitations and clinical findings

  • Are seeking independent medical evaluations focused on medical accuracy—not guarantees

Important: VetVantage does not influence VA decisions or determine disability ratings. All VA determinations are made solely by the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Who VetVantage Is Not For

VetVantage serves a narrow, defined purpose. It may not be the right fit for Veterans in the following situations.

Veterans Filing Their First VA Disability Claim

VetVantage is not intended for Veterans submitting an initial VA disability claim. First-time claims typically require service records, foundational medical history, and guidance on the claims process rather than updated evaluations for already rated conditions.

Veterans Filing for New or Secondary Conditions

  • New conditions require evidence establishing service connection

  • Secondary conditions require medical opinions linking one condition to another

VetVantage does not provide nexus opinions or documentation intended to establish service connection.

Veterans Filing Appeals or Reviews

VetVantage does not assist with VA appeals, Higher-Level Reviews, or Board of Veterans’ Appeals cases. These processes are legal and procedural and are best handled by VA-accredited representatives or attorneys.

Veterans Seeking Legal Advice or Guaranteed Outcomes

VetVantage does not provide legal advice, claim advocacy, or guaranteed disability ratings. No medical evaluation alone determines a VA decision.

Free Resources for Veterans Filing Initial Claims

If you are filing your first VA disability claim, the following free and reputable resources may be a better starting point:

VA-Accredited Veterans Service Organizations (VSOs)

VSOs offer free assistance with initial claims, evidence gathering, and submission.

  • Disabled American Veterans (DAV)

  • Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW)

  • American Legion

  • State and County Veterans Service Offices

These organizations are accredited by the VA and can help guide you through the initial claims process at no cost.

VA.gov

The official VA website provides step-by-step guidance on:

  • Filing an initial disability claim

  • Understanding VA disability ratings

  • Submitting evidence

  • Tracking claim status

VA Medical Centers and Community Care

VA clinicians can document conditions during routine care visits. This documentation may become part of your medical record used in initial claims.

Accredited VA Attorneys and Agents

If your case becomes complex, VA-accredited attorneys and agents can provide legal guidance. Some work on contingency or offer free consultations.

Why This Clarity Matters

Setting clear expectations protects Veterans from false promises and helps them make informed decisions. VetVantage is designed to support Veterans at the right stage of their journey—not to replace free or accredited VA resources.

When used appropriately, VetVantage helps ensure that a Veteran’s medical documentation accurately reflects current symptoms and functional impact.

What’s Next?

If you already have a VA-rated, service-connected condition that has worsened and need updated, VA-style medical documentation, VetVantage may be a good fit.
